RETFORD HALF MARATHON and CHARITY FAMILY FUN RUN 

The wait is finally over and we are proud to announce entries to the 2025 Retford Half Marathon and Charity Family Fun Run are now open. Its sure to be a great event once again.​

​

The main race will start at 10am in front of the Retford Oaks Academy for runners aged 17+. At a bargain price of £32 (£30 for affiliated runners), including booking fee, its great value for money.

​

The Family Fun Run will start at 10.15am once the main race has been set off and is approximately 2k. Its only £4.25 to enter and is open to children of all ages, although children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Medals for all finishers. We will be having a new route for 2025 which is a 2 lap course of the Retford Oaks site all on solid ground.

All finishers will get a commemorative ️ medal and there is an option to buy a t shirt additionally.

Are you running a spring marathon such as London, Manchester or Brighton? This would be the perfect warm up race for you. The use of headphones of any kind are prohibited due to the rules set out by Nottinghamshire AAA.

Incorporating Nottinghamshire county championships

​

Taking place on Sunday, 16th March 2025, this prestigious race will attract some of the best local talent, as runners vie for county honors in one of the region’s most loved half marathons. Whether you're an elite athlete aiming for the championship title or a recreational runner looking to take part in an unforgettable race, the Retford Half Marathon promises a fast, scenic course and an incredible race-day atmosphere.

The criteria for eligibility is as follows:

Must be born within the official county boundary, or, must have lived continuously within the official county boundary for the nine months up the date of the race, to include armed forces personnel if stationed in Nottinghamshire for at least nine months.

Also, for whichever criteria, an applicant must not have entered the county championships of another county within the same competition year, which is from 1 Sep each year.

Club vests must be worn, unless the applicant is un-attached.  Nb, if un-attached, they won't have EA registration, so will have to pay the un-attachment fee.  That isn't a bar for CC entry.  The place of birth or current residence are the sole criteria.  Full rules can be found at:  County Champs | Nottinghamshire Amateur Athletics Association (nottsaaa.org)
